You start off flying through space shooting at hordes of stuff that fly at you. When one of these things flies past you, you lose one point, once you get to zero points you lose a life, once your out of lives, your dead. (You can have 1 to 45 points depending on how you set your skill level) Okay, stuff's flying at you and you have to kill it before it kills you. There's a wide variety of things too, from asteroids to what looks like Stealth Bombers, (Okay, I'll admit that some of the graphics aren't breath taking, but they're pretty damn good) what they're doing in space I'm not sure of. Anyways, if you survive the assault, you'll proceed to the next Chapter. I of course figured that the next chapter was more of the same game just harder, but I was completely wrong. The next level you're fighting a giant cockroach like alien, you have to shoot his arms off than his jaws, then finally his belly. If you survive this then you're playing a game of concentration, then you're flying through caves at high speeds. You should get the picture by now that AstroKid is a combination of 5 different types of games divided into 5 chapters.
This is definitely one of the most innovative and original games for the Amiga platform. Not only is it one great game, it's several great games crammed, stuffed and poked into something that fits on one floppy. If you download anything today, make sure it's this.
